The Sr. Project Lead will be a core member of our team focused on delivering customer centric solutions with increased speed to market to drive value to our customers.
Perform project management functions for Global Employee Benefits IT Strategy projects by following a project management methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced and all approvals are obtained.
Manage projects of a complex nature, which may involve coordination of resources (people and technology) across the larger MetLife Global Technology organization, the Americas, EMEA & Asia Regions, as well as with external joint-venture partners.
Identify project resources needed, assemble the project team, and assign individuals responsibilities.
Create and administer project plan/schedule and status reporting.
Own project/program issue resolution and risk management.
Maintain regular contact with business partners.
Facilitate project meetings with project team and key stake holders
Report on project status to Senior Management and Business using defined templates
Assist in developing vendor statements of work, deliverables and SLAs.
May act as the program manager on multi-project activities.
Assign tasks to team members and track progress of deliverables.
Provide input to management on staff performance.
Review work products from team and vendor consultants. Job Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related preferred or equivalent experience
Experience Required:3 years of project management experience including:
3 years of experience in either a team lead or management role
Previous experience and deep understanding of the SDLC process
Experience working with mainframe and distributed technologies
Previous experience working in a multi-platform and multi-release environment
Previous experience managing multiple priorities
Previous experience creating and giving presentations to groups at all levels
MS Office; intermediate to advanced skills with Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
Knowledge of Iterative Agile methodology is a plus
Global experience preferred
Previous experience managing offshore teams desired
Previous experience building out processes preferred
PMP Certification is a plus
