The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. Must have knowledge of a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills coordinate projects in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
In cooperation with the Vice President and Chief Information Officer, the Senior Project Manager has management responsibilities for all aspects of the delivery for one or more projects to include producing, monitoring, and reporting project status against a project work plan as well as managing a project budget, issues and risks. The Senior Project Manager evaluates, selects, and implements new technologies, promotes technical standards for development, testing, and documentation, participates in the evaluation and selection of vendor systems, facilitates continuous quality improvement efforts, and serves as an expert project management resource for teams throughout the enterprise. The Senior Project Manager performs duties in support of the Health System mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
Education: College/University Degree or equivalent
•PMP Certification preferred
Experience: - Minimum 4 years relevant Project Management experience implementing software applications and operational projects in the healthcare arena. (Prefer candidates with healthcare background and/or vendor experience.) - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to set and manage expectations. - Ability to analyze, prioritize, and facilitate resolution of all project related issues. - Identify out-of-scope opportunities and address via out-of-scope services agreement. - Proficient in all Microsoft office suite software and project management software.
Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements: EHR certifications preferred. .
