SR PROJECT MANAGER
The Senior Project Manager (Senior PM) is a key member of the Project Management Office (PMO) team focused on developing delivery approaches and proposal and sales support activities for new strategic client opportunities and significant expansion opportunities within current strategic accounts. The objective of this highly visible position is to lead the development of Complex Delivery Schedules, and participate in responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) (collectively referred to as “proposals”). The Senior PM is ultimately responsible for multiple Delivery Plans, and for partnering with Business Development, the Account General Managers, and Development Leadership to ensure that each Delivery Plan:
address client business objectives and requirements
align with Allant’s technical products, platforms, solutions and services
accurately reflect the commitments and dependencies of the cross-functional teams
comply with Allant’s PMO delivery methodology
adhere to contractual obligations established within Allant, and/or between Allant and the client
The Senior PM participates in the development of the PMO methodology and strategies, maintains project content libraries (i.e. Client Files, Reporting, Tracking Logs, etc.), defines delivery plans for complex client opportunities in partnership with the Business Analyst and technical leads, facilitates client presentations, and ensures successful transition of final client database solutions to the Client Services team.
The Senior PM is a key liaison between the Allant Account Group Management (AGM) and Client teams.
The Senior PM partners with AGM to represent Allant’s proposed solutions and capabilities primarily to new accounts. The role provides definition, description and discussion of Allant capabilities and delivery schedule that allows new clients to understand how Allant will meet a given set of business needs, often in partnership with a Business Analyst.
The Senior PM partners with technical leaders in the Client Solutions Development team and members of the Product/Platform Group to determine appropriate solutions to business problems, and to ensure that the proposed technical solutions are aligned with Allant’s products, services, and future product/platform direction, and the approved Business Requirements Document (BRD).
The Senior PM provides input to proposals for opportunities for new services and solution offerings for new clients or prospects, and coordinates and oversees multiple cross-functional projects and/or project teams.
The Senior PM role has a balance of client-facing and internal delivery responsibilities. Internal customers include the Chief Marketing Officer, the EVP of Client Solutions, the Chief Operating Officer, Business Development, and the Account General Managers. The Senior PM’s client-facing activities include discovery phase gathering sessions, and ongoing development update meetings with clients/prospects and proposal presentations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consults with Business Development and Prospects/Clients to gain an understanding of Prospect/Client business needs and to convey Allant capabilities, products and services. Communicates via presentations and written documentation for business and technical audiences.
Works with Business Analysts and Delivery Leads to obtain an understanding of the solution approach for a complex client database. Takes that understanding, and in working with Client Solutions Development team members, develops a delivery approach and schedule to meet Prospect/Client opportunities and business challenges.
Works directly with all levels of staff at Allant and prospects/clients to document issue and risk management, dependency management, and scope management. Responds authoritatively to internal and external questions about the delivery state and status.
Leads cross-functional teams in the development of the SAT, BRD, and final client database solution. Ensures the content is consistent with Allant messaging and reflects the solution and scope committed to by the cross-functional team and is consistent with the clients business needs.
Gathers work estimates from the cross-functional team that reflect the work effort to implement and provide ongoing support for the proposed solution, based on an in-depth understanding of the client’s needs and of Allant’s platforms, products and services.
Builds effective relationships across Allant departments/business units to help develop a joint delivery plan. Acts as a liaison with Business Development, Marketing, Client Solutions Development, prospect/client representatives, and/or third party vendors as appropriate to ensure that the client’s business needs have been met.
Participates in the development and documentation of PMO standards. Contributes thought leadership and ideas to PMO leadership in PMO and project management best practices.
Maintains project content libraries (i.e. client files, reporting, team bios, tracking logs, etc.). Provides continual audits of project documentation to ensure project documentation is added, maintained, and updated appropriately.
Helps identify opportunities for new value-adding Allant services and solution offerings within new accounts.
Maintains thorough understanding of Allant business functions, platforms, products and services in order to identify additional sales opportunities to the AGM
Oversees and ensures seamless transition of successful database solutions to client services team.
Participates in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.

Abilities/Skills - High level of computer literacy and able to understand the technical aspects of Allant infrastructure. Ability to understand Marketing Solutions software capabilities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Experience and/or expertise in one or more specific areas of business, such as Marketing, Software, Financial, Retail or Telecommunications. Familiarity with Business Process Management concepts and methods.
College Degree required; computer science and/or marketing emphasis preferred. Education is considered to include the formal/traditional as well as learning from life and work experience.
Minimum of 8 years of work-related experience, particularly in the marketing services industry.
4-6 years of project management experience (PMP Certification a plus)
Experience with project management methodologies (waterfall, iterative, agile, etc.)
Ability to interface with clients, excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficiency with MS Project and MS Visio
Experience with project forecasting and budgeting
