The Virginia Department of General Services, Division of Engineering and Buildings, Bureau of Facilities Management (BFM) is seeking Senior Project Managers to manage projects involving design, construction, renovations & alterations to state facilities at the seat of government and other locations statewide; manage the delivery process of assigned projects including oversight of architects, engineers, construction managers, procurement & all administrative functions required from conception through closeout of assigned projects.
The selected candidates must have demonstrated experience in senior construction project management, building design and construction; the ability to interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications & contracts) and work independently to serve as the owner's representative in the overall project delivery process with additional experience in utilities, fire protection, security, A/V and other systems.
Familiarity with building codes, renovation of historic property, state Bureau of Capital Outlay Management (BCOM) requirements and procurement policies is preferred.
Demonstrable and extensive experience in the delivery process of publicly-sensitive and highly-visible capital projects in the $50-$200 million range, especially in regards to budget tracking, timeline adherence, and proactive engagement with diverse and high-profile stakeholders to ensure effective and consistent communication. Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Construction or Construction Management from an accredited college is preferred. Valid VA driver's license required. Registration as an Architect or Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

The selected candidates must pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check and a DMV driving record check.
