The project system engineer will be responsible for defining the key sub-systems and interfaces that make up the overall signaling solution. This will include the office, communication, wayside and on-board systems. In this role, you will:
Be responsible for being the lead technical interface with the customers and product managers
Accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives
Owner delivery of systems engineering commitments and budget for all defined projects
Be responsible for lead technical interface with customer and product management
Be responsible for final technical solution and engineering cost estimates in the proposal process
Have ownership of defining and mitigating technical risk on projects
Have ownership of Requirements Management throughout the life cycle development
Have ownership of the compliance to the Customer Requirements
Define and manage all Interfaces to all sub-system in compliance to the system technical solution
Provide NPI Requirements to the product management and product engineering team needed to deliver project solution
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer program needs
Communicate with management on technical issues
Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Minimum of 10 years of Signaling design experience, Signaling product development, or Signaling application experience
Minimum of 5 years of system engineering experience in the definition, development and deployment of positive train control (PTC) systems such as Increment Train control system (ITCS), Communication Train Control (CBTC), European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), etc.)

Strong track record of executing projects to budget and schedule requirements
Effective team building and project management ability
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skill
Railroad and/or transit industry experience
Knowledge of CENELEC, AREMA, and FRA standards
Railroad, locomotive, communication, signaling, and/or office systems domain knowledge Working knowledge of software, electrical, mechanical, and reliability engineering
Working knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Reliability (DFR)
Previous product line experience
Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) experience
Foreign language (Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French)
