Senior Proposal Technical Writer (Job Number: 318766)
The Health Solutions Business Unit (HSBU) business development team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to support our proposal teams and line organizations. He/She will be responsible for writing technical content in response to government solicited Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for the civilian health, military health, life sciences, and defense health operations. The Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for developing proposal sections, such as, but not limited to, the executive summary, technical approach, management plan, transition plan, experience and/or past performance, along with corporate capabilities and resumes of key personnel. In developing these proposal sections, he/she will interview and work directly with subject matter experts (SMEs) and proposal teams to collect, tailor, and/or translate technical content, as well as develop graphically-oriented proposal content and tables to illustrate features/benefits and risks/mitigation strategies. Additionally, the Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for editing and copying content, along with rewriting text to ensure clarity and consistency in approach and compliance to RFP requirements.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Technical Writing, Scientific field, or related field. He/She will have a minimum of 5-7 years direct technical proposal writing experience, including experience writing or supporting proposals for the Federal Government. Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, an ability to multitask, as well as an ability to work under pressure within a defined process, timeline, and schedule of proposal efforts is required.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Masters degree of Public Health (MPh) or related post-graduate degree in Biological Sciences or Public Health, and/or a background in science or a health-related field is preferred. Experience working on proposals for the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control, National Institutes of Health, Department of Veteran Affairs, and other health-oriented Federal agencies is also preferred. Knowledge of hardware/software development, Agile methodology, Network Security, Help Desk and Call Center support, and other technical solutions is a plus.
