Coordinates the proposal development process to ensure high quality, accurate and thorough clinical research proposals for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages all aspects of the proposal development process, including production of an appropriate budget
Analyzes information received in study specification sheets, protocols, case report forms and other supporting information used to prepare proposals (Request for Proposal (RFP) information), and requests missing information from account manager
Manages dissemination of initial RFP information and sets up Proposal Assessment Team (PAT) meeting
Directs PAT meeting to ensure complete review of RFP by appropriate operational attendees, discussion of client background, presentation of Study Drug background and thorough understanding of client objectives
Prepares and manages development of appropriate resource/service fees using algorithms and electronic spreadsheets, which also includes coordinating departmental reviews, updating initial estimates, assisting in analyzing final costs and providing feedback to proper parties for response
Provides technical guidance and training to operational staff members to ensure consistency in preparation and interpretation of cost estimates
Prepares 'value-added' text in regard to company/staff experience, services offered, differentiating characteristics of Premier Research, scientific discussion of the protocol, etc.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in the Sciences or Business Administration/Marketing
Minimum of two years CRO or pharmaceutical industry experience or one year of CRO experience and at least one year of business development, marketing or communications experience in a related position, preferably in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
Or, a combination of undergraduate education and healthcare and/or CRO experience equal to but not less than five years.

Detail oriented and well organized
Computer literate, with a working knowledge of the commercial programs currently in use
Ability to perform overnight business travel, up to 10%
