Are you an experienced Test Automation Engineer who thrives on quality and has an attention to detail that borders on obsession? Great! We could use your eye for detail to build and scale one of the most interesting sites in the world.

Like our wikis and communities, Wikia is passionate, high-energy, and collaborative. Wikia is one of the largest Creative Commons-licensed sites in the world, as we maintain over 300,000 wikis across an impressive array of subjects, spanning all aspects of entertainment, gaming, and lifestyle. We are rated as a Quantcast Top 50, ComScore Top 100, and Nielsen Top 10 Social Media Site and are read by over 70 million unique visitors a month.

This role requires a commitment to quality and precision across our massive platform that is fast moving and globally distributed. Writing and executing test cases (manual and automated) will help us achieve high-quality low-error work for our web pages and apps. Testing will encompass identifying, tracking, and communicating defects within the code and QA processes, as well as delivering resolutions to problems that arise. You’ll be a part of a passionate development environment and co-work with our engineers, product management, project management departments, and your fellow testers based in Poland. We’ll even fly you to Poland a couple times a year to work alongside the team!

You have heavy automation experience coupled better-than-excellent communication skills and your colleagues would describe you as analytical, outgoing, and diplomatic. You have at least two years of automated software testing experience and are a pro with Selenium WebDriver. Basic software development skills (ex. Java) are the foundation of your knowledge and you also have an understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Major bonus points for experience testing in an Agile/Scrum software development environment and working with Jira. It would also be an added bonus if you had a Bachelors or Master’s degree.

Unlike most startups, our exciting platform is also coupled with a strong work life balance. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the revenue stream of the company, technology, and products, while having fun. For your expertise, we will offer a competitive base salary, full benefits, and big play on equity. Our dog-friendly digs are located in the SOMA area of San Francisco (between BART and CalTrain), come with a stocked pantry, a gaming room, and we also offer lunch hour yoga classes. If you enjoy pop culture and gaming, working for Wikia will allow you to work on what you love.

Joining our mission to scale one of the largest and most interesting sites in the world is easy. Inquire within and let’s get you started.
