The Senior Radiographer performs complex, highly specialized imaging procedures under the direction of a Radiologist or Supervisor. The Senior Radiographer performs imaging procedures on patients of all ages to include neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. This individual participates in training of students and new employees, quality improvement, and safety programs designed to meet the goals and purposes of the Radiology Department and the needs of the patient.The Senior Radiographer has completed an AMA approved program or the equlvalent in Radiologic Sciences. All graduates are required to pass their registry within one year upon graduation. An advancedregistry in a,Mammography,and Angiography by the ARRT, MRI by the ARRT or ARMRIT, or Nuclear Medicine by ARRT or NMTCB in the working specialty is preferred. Additionally, a minimum of one year general experience in imaginq services is preferred.
Minimum Requirements: Completion of an AMA approved program or the equivalent in the Radiologic Sciences or Nuclear Medicine.
Other Requirements: Basic registryby ARRT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB is required or alternate licensure with demonstrated competency since licensure is not conducted in the state of Georgia. A license from another state will be accepted upon documentation. All graduates are required to pass the registry within one year upon graduation. A current CPR certification is required. Must be computer literate at the PC level and able to understand and operate computer programs used within the Department of Radiology and able to adapt to changing software skill requirements.
