Job Summary:
The Sr. RC Engineer will work with multi-functional teams. The Sr. RC engineer serves in a consultative capacity on Belkin product Safety and regulatory compliance with national and international regulatory requirements. He or she must think analytically, interact with PM/PGM, test labs, local regulatory authorities and perform multi tasks effectively.

The Sr. RC candidate must be able to read electronic schematics, review layouts for creepage and clearances and be familiar with various test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, LISNs, signal generators, various antennas, amplifiers and other RF equipment, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, current meters, power supplies, etc.

Specific Responsibilities:
: Assist in development of corporate policy and procedures for product safety and regulatory requirements

: Evaluate and interpret US and International regulations and standards with the objective of making our product compliant and managing risk with respect to product requirements

: Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and tools relating to product safety and regulatory requirements

: Provide guidance to senior management regarding corporate compliance matters where product safety becomes an issue

: Provide technical direction and communication across engineering, contracts and ODM, resulting in compliance practices/procedures

: Guide product development teams on product safety and regulatory compliance issues

: Educate Belkin PM/PGM staff on achieving safety and regulatory compliance in timely manner

: Assist in the development of tools and processes to enable other engineers to work with a reasonable level of autonomy

: Develop methodology and processes for product test plans, and ensure effective validation testing for compliance to applicable safety & regulatory requirements.

: Conduct or assist in internal investigations and analysis of any suspected non-compliant product / incident. Define and/or assist in definition of corrective action as necessary

: Guide post incident investigation and problem resolution, advise corporate on risk exposures, follow up with action plans for related systems when warranted

: Must be able to read electronic schematics and be familiar with various test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, LISNs, signal generators, various antennas, amplifiers and other RF equipment, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, current meters, power supplies, etc.

: Support NPI and Sustaining RC Engineers in certifying new and maintaining current certification status of production product

: Monitor testing at 3rd party test and certification labs

: Collect, review and release RC test plans, reports, and certificates.

: Ensure suppliers comply with domestic and international RC regulations.

: Experience with overseas ODMs a plus but not a must.

: Candidate must be able to write technical documents clearly and concisely.

: Maintain international RC Standards Library

: Candidate must have knowledge of local certification processes and must be able to interact with local certification authorities.

: Assist in RC program and product management; track budget, invoices, schedule, etc.

: Work from oral and written instructions

: Travel 5% - up to 10%

Education and Experience Requirements:
: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Electrical mechanical or other relevant degrees

: Minimum of 10 years of International Regulatory Compliance experience in a testing lab or consumer electronics engineering development environment

: Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards

: Candidates for this position are required to have hands-on experience on EMC/EMI and Product Safety testing.

: Good understanding of global consumer electronics EMC/EMI and Product Safety standards such as UL, FCC, CE, CISPR, ELV, R&TTE, etc. is a must.

: Understanding of environmental / sustainability requirements such as Prop 65, RoHS, Reach, Energy efficiency etc. is preferred.

: Exposure and working knowledge of wireless technologies such as WIFI and Bluetooth along with an understanding of networking systems is highly desirable.

: Candidate must have knowledge of local certification processes and must be able to interact with local certification authorities.
