Role Purpose
Seeking a Senior Research Analyst with a passion for sports media and TV business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with the VP and Associate Director of Strategic Research in the creation of detailed analyses, reports, presentations and marketing/sales materials covering NBCU’s sports properties – on NBC (Olympics, Sunday Night Football, NHL, French Open, Triple Crown) and NBC Sports Network (NHL, Olympic trials, Premier League, MLS, Tour de France, IndyCar, college sports including football, basketball and ice hockey)
  • Utilize both syndicated and custom research tools to effectively position various NBC Sports properties and develop ROI analysis.
  • Communicate directly with sales and marketing contacts to cultivate client specific sales research.
  • Support cross-network positioning for sales, marketing, and communications departments.
  • Explore and evaluate new metrics that will enhance the value of NBCU’s audience to advertisers.
  • Assist in the training and professional development of junior analysts and interns. Reviewing work and providing guidance/training when necessary.
  • Communicate effective insights in visually compelling formats

  • Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing, Economics/Finance, Media, Statistics
  • Minimum of one year in media research with broadcast or cable network, agency, supplier, or sports
  • Proven background in statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Nielsen systems (Galaxy Explorer, NPower, Arianna and AdViews), as well as, MRI, Simmons and IAG. Must be well versed in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint), particularly Excel – formating, charts, macros and pivot tables

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of TV/Media landscape and impact on TV viewing
  • Proven experience with Lake5
  • Demonstrated facility with research software applications
