Transwestern, a national full service commercial real estate company is seeking an experienced real estate market research analyst to work in its Los Angeles, CA office. The Senior Research Analyst will be responsible for maintaining statistical data and analytics on the Los Angeles commercial real estate market. The Senior Research Analyst will also be writing and producing quarterly market and submarket reports as well as conducting research projects related to lease, sale, and financing transactions by our Southern California-based real estate professionals.
It is also the responsibility of the Senior Research Analyst not only to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with tenants, prospective tenants, owners, and vendors but also to focus on productivity and results.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Maintain a database of properties and market data on the Los Angles commercial real estate market.
Provide market data and research support for the wider Southern California markets are required.
Write, edit, and manage production of quarterly market research reports.
Understand and manager key resources, data vendors, and development of effective technology.
Analyze and report on local and regional economy and demographics, including population, employment and labor statistics, industry trends and other factors impacting the real estate market.
Maintain a sales and lease comparables database.
Research ownership data, comparables, competitive property and other special projects using primary and secondary research sources are requested by brokers in support of their transactional activity.
Create special research reports and write papers on unique market, economic, or industry trends.
Associates degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in commercial real estate research required.
Familiarity with the Los Angeles metro area and LA real estate market preferred.
Must have a solid understanding or research metrics (vacancy, absorption, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
Ability to work independently and to prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to work within a diverse, collaborative and driven professional environment.
Must have Word and Excel proficiencies, and CoStar experience is a plus.
Proficient with numbers, analysis and writing.
Must have a strong interest in becoming an expert on commercial real estate market dynamics.
Must perform in a professional manner.
Travel within and outside the metro LA area required.
