Department: Corporate Access
ITG’s newly formed Corporate Access/ Primary Research unit will be responsible for building out a robust network of senior-level contacts within both public and private industry for the purpose of helping the firm’s institutional investor client base better understand the competitive dynamics governing their underlying businesses. The senior research associate position will involve a high level of interfacing and partnering with ITG’s research analysts and research sales team in order to collaboratively identify specific themes/ trends, competitive dynamics and public/ private companies on which to conduct primary research and outreach, where appropriate.
Conduct in-depth, qualitative primary research across multiple industries, with a focus on identifying and researching key trends, themes, events and catalysts impacting public companies, as well as private industry operators of size and/or significance in their respective industries.
Track data points and insights gleaned from ongoing research.
Outreach to and relationship building with senior-level operators within both public and private industry.
Plan and coordinate in-person meetings and conference calls between company operators and the firm’s institutional investor clients.
Author for publication and distribution to clients written summaries of salient data points and insights gleaned from meetings and conference calls.
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 5 years of relevant business experience. Examples include but are not limited to: business/ investigative journalism, investment research and management consulting.
Journalistic research, networking and reporting skills.
Excellent analytic and verbal/ written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal/ relationship building skills.
A strong track record for building teamwork across functions.
