Technica LLC seeks to fill the position of Senior Research Statistician at the Center for the Army Profession and Ethic (CAPE), which is the Army Force Modernization Proponent for the Army Profession and Ethic. This is a full time contract position to be performed in West Point, NY. The salary range for this position is 80,000 - 84,000, depending on level of experience. The Senior Research Statistician is responsible for developing and implementing advanced statistical models to support analysis of complex hierarchical and longitudinal data sets.
Designing, researching, developing and validating innovative statistical approaches and models to solving complex analysis problems related to research projects and programs.
Conducting extensive data mining of hierarchical data sets to derive meaningful relationships and incorporating findings into comprehensive statistical modeling frameworks.
Developing and embedding sophisticated analytics capability using both standard and non-standard programs for research databases.
Developing appropriate sampling designs and statistical analysis procedures for complex research projects and proposals.
Providing technical assistance in computer programming applications including determining computer application requirements for statistical analyses.
Conducting analysis of quantitative and qualitative data including assembling, cleaning, managing, and analyzing large, longitudinal data sets derived from multiple sources.
Ensuring the scientific validity of statistical analysis and accuracy and on-time delivery of all statistical deliverables.
Collaborating with research team to understand analysis requirements and deliverables for research projects.
Assisting with research proposal and grant writing.
Either a Ph.D. in statistics or a Master's degree with prior experience as a research statistician is required. Candidate must be highly skilled and experienced with analysis of complex survey data using advanced statistical analysis and modeling techniques. These techniques include but are not limited to: longitudinal analysis, reliability analysis, canonical correlation, multiple regression, logistic regression, hierarchical linear modeling, cluster analysis, confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis, structural equation modeling, content/text analysis, conjoint analysis, automatic interaction detection, item response analysis and multi-dimensional scaling. The application of these techniques shall follow good scientific practice in planning, selection, execution and reporting.
Candidate must have considerable knowledge of the methods, principles, and processes of survey research and broad experience in the field; knowledge of computer software systems, programming, and statistical analysis; thorough knowledge of one or more major high level programming languages; ability to deal effectively and efficiently with a wide variety of user hardware and software problems; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
