The Senior Sales Manager, PGS will be responsible for all Orders, Sales and CM growth Op Plans within a specified customer base (in the Kansas and Missouri area) by developing and executing an overall sales strategy.
In addition, you will:
As part of the Op Plan be responsible for Parts, Repairs, Services and Projects for the GT, ST and GEN installed base within an assigned customer base
Manage the sales process including opportunity identification, strategy creation, proposal development, deal negotiation, order closure and OTR handoff
Lead deal strategy development and reviews, ultimately obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing, delivery and other commercial terms for specific sales proposals
Provide timely, accurate and complete forecasts of Orders and Sales by product or service segment by maintaining a full and accurate opportunity pipeline in salesforce.com
Develop and strengthen long-term relationships at all levels within the customer and GE organizations
Maintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge of market trends (technology, pricing, risk, etc.), customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base
Work with Region Leadership and Marketing to develop and cultivate ideas for new product and services introductions
Assist Sales Directors, Commercial Directors and the Regional Services Team in identifying opportunities for process and organizational improvement as well as creating sales analysis for the assigned sales region
Manage travel and living and entertainment spending within annual operating plans
Travel within territory (travel requirements for the position will be discussed further during interview process)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or technical discipline (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience within the Energy industry)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales / Commercial Operations
Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Energy industry
Ability and willingness to work long hours, as required
Ability and willingness to reside in location of posting as required
Ability and willingness to travel as required
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license as required

Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power generation facilities as required

Willing to work independently (after proper training) and be a self-starter
Knowledge of power generation related products, services and markets
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

History of demonstrated success achieving Op Plan targets in a commercial function within GE
