Job Summary: Provide support for projects by preparing project schedule timelines and resource dependencies; and acting as supporting or primary scheduler for projects as needed. Provide leadership, oversight, and guidance for direct reports.Job Responsibilities: Create proposal and detailed construction schedules to assist Marketing and Operations managers. Visit jobsites to review job status, update schedule, and provide feedback to project team on areas of concern & where improvements can occur. Provide the data and resources to adjust schedules for market and regional factors like materials markets, labor force, seasonal weather patterns, etc. Facilitate data and information to resource or cost load schedules (Like those typically found on COE or GSA projects). Apply LEAN principles to Construction Scheduling. Lead / facilitate Pull Planning sessions. Lead detailed critical path analysis for problem projects, root cause analysis for issues, support project teams to coordinate with subcontractors' schedule issues and recovery schedules. Guide project teams in assessing sequencing / methods of construction, project delays / impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules. Develop and teach planning & scheduling Training Programs for Project Managers & Superintendents. Master ability in use of scheduling software utilized by JE Dunn (particularly P6), experience with integrating CPM schedules with BIM, e.g. 4D, and knowledgeable about software used by others in construction industry. Attend the kick-off and coordination meetings (of large systems, MEP, etc.) to get acquainted with subcontractors' key project personnel; and with Owner/Clients, especially if Owner is providing or responsible for any part of the project. Daily travel will be required, along with some overnight travel.
Minimum 4-year degree in Construction Technology / Construction Science, Industrial Engineering; and typically. At least 10 years of construction experience, along with 5+ years of construction scheduling experience. Individual contributor & team leader. Knowledgeable in all types of commercial building construction projects and delivery methods ranging from hospitals, offices, prisons, schools, garages, etc. In depth knowledge with Critical path analysis for Time Extension requests, types of delays and claims (compensable, non-compensable, excusable and non-excusable). Advanced ability to recognize on jobsite visits where there are schedule sequencing areas of concern & where sequencing improvements can occur. Ability to handle scheduling on projects of any size. Good communication skills along with the ability to deal with different personalities.
