About Technology Management & Architecture - Security Technologies: We provide technology strategy and architecture to help Chevron differentiate performance through information technology. We scan, assess and pilot emerging security technologies in broad range of areas from cyber security, cloud computing, mobile technologies, to big data and security analytics. We partner with IT Assets to drive the development and stewardship of protecting Chevron's Information assets and appropriately managing risk while ensuring business resiliency.

Position Details:
Chevron's Information Technology Company is looking for an experienced IT security analyst to fill the position of Sr. Security Analyst in TMA ST. The successful candidate will be challenged to identify security trends and test emerging security technologies with potential to improve Chevron's cyber security. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Security tools and technologies and will focus on security strategy, architecture and governance required to promote and improve Chevron's current and future security assets. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other technologists and effectively communicate with business peers and leaders, must be self-motivated, results driven, enjoys a challenging environment and is able to work independently.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Expert domain knowledge in IT Security
  • Familiar with Mobile Security (Mobile Device Security, Mobile Application Security, BYOD)
  • Familiar with Application Security and Secure Software Development Life Cycle methodology
  • Knowledge of Cryptography, PKI and Authentication protocols
  • Knowledge of Security architecture, compliance, vulnerability assessments, CIRT and Security Operations (SOC).
  • Designing and building Security Architecture review processes.
  • Designing and building Security Architecture review processes.
  • Write proof of concept code or small applications in various languages on a range of platforms to demonstrate different aspects of researched technologies.
  • Lead the development and evolution of a security strategy and security target architecture that will provide strategic direction for managing our critical security assets.
  • Coordinate and partner with OpCo and IRSM Solution Architects to manage emerging digitized platforms.

    Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT Security.
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline with an advanced degree desired.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the technology arena.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to engage business and technical audiences. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analysis.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive levels of relevant work experience.
  • Prefer some experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Experience collaborating with enterprise architects across Chevron to understand emerging technology opportunities generated by business strategies and operational requirements.
  • Some experience and a strong interest in experimentation with new tools and technologies.
