Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Security Technologies Architect located in San Ramon, California through September 27, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

This position is a member of the Technology Management & Architecture (TMA) and the Security Technologies team. The team is responsible for security technology strategy and design and consults on implementations. The team designs solutions for various security technologies within Chevron that result in enabling better security, higher compliance, and improve collaboration with 3rd Parties/JVs.

Significant time is spent on business and security vendor engagement, business analysis, project participation, collaboration with global IT function, planning and consulting with IT operations teams, complex technical problem solving, and continuous participation in activities related to strategy and business requirement alignment. This position contributes to the enterprise Identity and Access Management security strategy which is key to a 5-year architecture plan to realize next generation of how employees, contractors, Joint Ventures, and External 3rd Parties can access Chevron network resources.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Leads and participates in security technologies strategy and Identity and Access Management design with involvement of numerous IT professionals and business partners.
  • Develops and implements processes to maintain the reliability, security, and efficiency of Identity & Access Management asset components located in over 85 countries where Chevron operates.
  • Provide direction and input into the 1-5 year asset lifecycle management plans for the asset component in alignment with strategy defined with cooperation from Technology Management & Architecture-Security Technologies team.
  • Responsible for translating Identity & Access Management strategy roadmap to target architectures
  • Develops and shares best practices with operational support teams.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years’ experience developing technology solutions for IT
  • 5+ years’ implementation experience with Identity & Access Management software
  • 2+ years’ experience implementing enterprise-wide role/attribute based access control solutions
  • 2+ years’ experience with provisioning systems
  • Strong knowledge of Federation
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols & Tokens: Claims, SAML, XACML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, RESTful etc…
  • Strong knowledge of CA SiteMinder & Ping Federate is a plus
  • Knowledge of RBAC / ABAC authorization patterns and experience or understanding of XACML and policy engines
  • Strong knowledge with web applications and database technologies operating within Linux environment required; Apache, JBoss, MySQL and Linux administration experience a plus.
  • Experience developing applications to use one or more directories, such as Active Directory, Virtual Directory; LDAP administration experience highly desired
  • Prior experience with Oracle and Microsoft Identity Manager highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct stakeholder engagements, gathers requirements, and translates to functional and design specifications for solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports, white papers and to deliver presentations at all levels in the organization

    Education and Interpersonal Skill Requirements
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems; advanced technical degrees is a plus or equivalent relevant experience
  • A professional certification in an information security domain is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently but in alignment with team goals
  • Results oriented with strong focus on execution
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, and problem solving
