Faithful+Gould is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer for our office in Portland, OR. You will write, modify, and debug software for F+G and our clients. As a Senior Developer for Faithful+Gould focusing in Agile Mobility Practice, you'll have an opportunity to build and work on industry leading solutions for some of the world's most innovative companies.
Some typical duties and responsibilities of this position will include:
Performs software development in applicable software development platforms in support of all internal and external applications, including requirement and functional specification review, software design and test planning, software development (programming), and software deployment planning and execution.
Performs software development in applicable database platforms in support of all internal and external applications.
Performs software development in applicable data integration technologies in support of all internal and external applications.
Performs software design reviews for applicable software development platforms, database platforms, data integration platforms, or any combination of the three.
Establishes best practices for software design and development for applicable software development platforms, database platforms, data integration platforms, or any combination of the three.
Provides second tier support for software service requests.
We are seeking candidates with the following experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, and a minimum of four years related experience.
Must have proven ability to develop applications and reporting capabilities in applicable languages, an exemplary understanding of one or more programming environments, the ability to follow and improve upon defined processes for software delivery, the ability to produce solutions that exceed defined standards for quality, exemplary skills in applicable programming languages with a good understanding of object oriented technologies, and exemplary skills in data connectivity architectures involving applicable programming languages and applicable database technologies.
Experience in technical writing and formal training in Microsoft-related coursework is preferred. Knowledge of accounting systems and construction software is preferred.
Requires the ability and willingness to quickly understand and document business requirements, and to create well-structured software designs to meet them; the ability to set standards with applicable development languages and lead the team to follow standards; the ability to work individually as well as on a team; solid problem solving, decision-making, and creative thinking ability; the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously; excellent communication skills; a strong work ethic and solid track record of getting the job done; the ability to work under pressure and work in a multi-tasking environment with changing priorities.
