We are looking for a senior Java / J2EE and preferred .Net developer to join a dynamic, high-performing team. In this position, you will join an existing team responsible for the development of online-billing and payment-processing solutions.
The ideal candidate will be well-organized and detail-oriented with strong abilities in problem solving as well as oral and written communication. He/she will also have both breadth and depth of knowledge sufficient to allow him/her to be a self-starter requiring very little detailed directions. The ideal candidate will also be able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment and open to learning third-party development tools.
The position involves design, development, testing and documentation of complex projects on both an enterprise and small scale level.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Be part of the development team that designs, develops and supports multiple front end, middle layer and UI applications for online billing and payment processing using Java technology.
With limited guidance, be responsible for the design, development, and testing of project deliverables.
Prepare technical documentation.
Create and document detail design specifications and unit test cases to ensure that all business and functional requirements are met.
Code and implement solutions based on detail design specifications.
Adhere to coding standards, code reviews & TDD methodology – executing tests through use of tools such as nUnit and jUnit.
Adapt to shifting priorities.
Provide mentoring to junior developers both on and off the team.
Provide project effort estimations.
Communicate effectively with several technical and non-technical groups both internally and externally.
Required to provide exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication to project and outside teams as technical liaison for the team.
Responsible to keep abreast with latest technical know-how pertaining to but not limited to projects and sharing that with the team.
Engage with team leads and managers to understand the business and accompanying needs.
Work with enterprise architecture leads to incorporate the architectural vision of the division into the products in development.
Communicate with QA team to provide support to QA testing activities.
Interface with client implementation team to provide support to biller implementation activities.
Participate in team effort to provide production support and resolution to critical and urgent production issue.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar discipline. Relevant, equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
Experience & Technical Requirements:
5 or more years' of professional experience in software development.
Senior level skills required in Java and J2EE (prefer JDK 1.4+), with good knowledge of .Net, MVC, Servlets and Web session management.
Experience with at least one of the following Java frameworks required: Struts, JSF, Spring. JSF preferred.
Awareness of web security practices such as PCI compliance and OWASP security standards.
Thorough understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocol.
Working knowledge of WebSphere or WebLogic preferred. Knowledge of Tomcat is a plus.
Development experience in at least one of the following development IDE is a strong plus: Intellij, MyEclipse.
