Liberty Mutual Global Specialty IT – LIU is actively searching for a Senior Software Developer. Global Specialty IT provides support and operations for all global specialty lines including Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), Liberty Syndicates, Liberty Mutual Surety (LMS), and Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LMR) through one unified IT team. In this position, you will under limited supervision, participate as technical expert in analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging new RPG software or significant enhancements to existing RPG software to achieve desired results and documents appropriate aspects of those deliverables. Develop and enhance complex systems and/or software from general requirements and specifications. Analyze complex technical system problems. Lead projects or subprojects and coordinate rollouts of moderate scope. May provide coaching and guidance to other team members.


Performs complex source code development.


Assists in complex unit test case development.


Develops complex test scripts.


Assists in the development of production support documentation.


Provides functional/system integration testing support.


Performs Quality Assurance coding and design review.


Conducts complex impact analysis.


Develops complex component design.


Provides complex system / application architecture.


Contributes complex technical alternatives.


Participates in the development of Build and Deployment guide and script.


Participates in the development of guidelines and standards.

Required to have experience with Liberty International Underwriter’s Program Business Automated Interface programs, each of the code bases utilized in the data feeds, AS 400 experience as well as experience utilizing Robot/SCHEDULE job setup and management.

Experience with the Genius policy administration system as well as CAS; SPC; USAL and PMGBUS product configurations in the Genius application is required.

Understanding of the UDC validation process is preferred.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.

Generally 5+ years of professional experience.

Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.

Extensive knowledge of a business function(s) and of business operations.

Extensive knowledge of design and development tools.

Extensive knowledge of architectures and technical standards. layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs; extensive understanding of shared software concepts.
