Fortress Liquid Markets employs a small team of highly qualified software engineers to support the Trading, Risk Management, Research, Operations, Accounting, Compliance, and Investor Relations functions. As a member of this core team, the Senior Software Engineer can expect to design and build software across these disciplines and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform. Success in this role requires a deep understanding and appreciation of both the business and technology aspects of a hedge fund operation.

R ESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Leverage and extend the existing infrastructure and application suite in response to a continuous stream of business requests
  • Work closely with users to validate business requirements
  • Work closely with the technology team and CTO to verify appropriate design and integration approach
  • Support a complex and powerful operational infrastructure
C ANDIDATE PROFILE :
  • Excellent software engineer with demonstrated experience designing and building low-maintenance applications in a financial markets setting
  • Ability to interact effectively at both the business and technical level as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to think quickly under pressure
  • Able to develop stable and repeatable solutions for process automation that ensure data quality and integrity
Q UALIFICATIONS :
  • Deep knowledge of C#
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and related design patterns
  • Strong database modeling, programming, and optimization skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack, specifically: SQL Server, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services
  • Knowledge of financial instruments within the Equity, Fixed Income, Currency, and/or Commodity asset classes
  • Experience with FINCAD or similar financial modeling package(s)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • 7+ years of industry experience
