The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering successful technical solutions for the NMDP. The individual is also responsible for providing mentoring, work direction and development, support across multiple projects/domains.
Bachelors degree in computer science business with an emphasis in management information systems; math or related technical field that required extensive computer programming. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree.
Five years technical work experience working independently and in a team-based software development environment
Advanced knowledge of the development life cycle including testing process and methods, variable programming fundamentals, conditional execution, data structures, compilation and debugging tools
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, a self-starter, self-motivated team player able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment. Attention to detail with a quality focus. Possess and demonstrate strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills; self-directed and able to work effectively independently or within project teams.
Advanced knowledge of procedural (waterfall) approach and/or object-oriented software development methodology utilizing UML (Unified Modeling Language) is required.
