DescriptionThe successful candidate will work within a lean and agile team to deliver software systems to track inventory and dispense medication in a hospital and pharmacy setting. This individual is a well-rounded .NET/C# software engineer with strong experience on data intensive web applications using ASP.NET MVC. Any experience developing software for the healthcare industry is a huge plus.The candidate’s responsibilities will include new feature development and sustaining engineering of several software product lines and code bases. So, gathering and clarifying requirements, writing clean code, refactoring existing code, providing status on the daily scrum, ongoing quality improvement through design and code reviews, unit tests and regular architecture discussions is standard practice for members of this team.

The team also works on integrating the company’s software products with hospital networks using interface engines and HL7 messaging. Any experience in healthcare system integration is a strong asset.This is a great growth and learning opportunity for someone with a positive, can-do attitude to work on innovative products in a collaborative, fast moving and challenging environment. Education/ExperienceKey Skills & Experience• B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with at least 10 years of experience in the software field.• 2+ years of Agile development experience of web applications, desktop applications, and/or software control systems.• 5+ years of strong development experience on the .NET platform using C#.• Experience with ASP.NET with MVC 3 or 4.

Any experience with JavaScript, CSS and HTML is a plus.• Experience on web services and SOA using WCF.• Strong OO design concepts and principles.• Strong database design and ORM experience particularly with SQL Server 2008 R2, Entity Framework and Linq.• Strong troubleshooting skills• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & Experience• WinForms and/or WPF experience.• Experience in a TFS team environment.• HL7 and healthcare interface engine (Mirth, CorePoint etc.) experience.• Experience with MS Build and continuous integration using TFS.• Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, VBScript, etc.• Experience with TDD and unit testing.Responsibilities• Be part of the daily scrum and provide regular status of development tasks.• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Development teams to understand product requirements, system architecture and technology.• Write code that follows team coding standards and meets product expectations. Write unit tests for appropriate coverage.• Participate in code reviews, design reviews and bug reviews.• Assist in troubleshooting issues identified in the lab or in the field.
