Warby Parker is seeking a brilliant senior software engineer who will develop e-commerce applications that make our company succeed. Role " Responsibilities: Architect and develop a modular, scalable e-commerce platform that integrates across the enterprise Mentor other software engineers Write absolutely amazing code Write even better documentation Review partner and vendor systems and code for integration Create high volume web services Convert functional requirements to working applications Create and maintain databases Participate in code reviews, create and practice coding standards Lead and participate in application testing Required Skills: 10+ years of relevant work experience 4+ years software architecture experience Thorough understanding of PHP or similar modern programming language. Right now we primarily use PHP, you must be willing (eager?) to code in other languages. Thorough understanding of JavaScript Solid knowledge of SQL (particularly MySQL) Knowledge of scaling and application optimization Unit testing experience, particularly with PHPUnit and Selenium Knowledge of SOAP and REST Knowledge of standards and best practice design patterns for Object Oriented Programming, MVC and Database design Good design taste (even for internal applications) Eye for details Ability to work among multiple teams and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical teammates A willingness to gain and share knowledge Extra Credit Magento, Kohana, NetSuite experience Solid HTML " CSS chops Strong desire to use, support, and commit back to open source projects
