The primary role of the Software Trainer is to deliver client / partner facing training classes either within publically scheduled classes in Atlanta or dedicated classes both in various Manhattan offices and onsite at customer locations. These classes generally range from 2-5 days in length and incorporate blended learning techniques including hands on exercises for each student.
This role is responsible for creating / maintaining courseware materials – either expanding current offerings or upgrading curriculum to align with the latest Manhattan Associates product release schedule. Additional responsibility includes client-facing projects in support of custom, scalable key-user and end-user training programs, product / process / project documentation, production job aids, communication / change management, ongoing training, and implementation support.
•Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Logistics or related degree.
•5+ years consulting experience with Supply Chain / WMS software implementations, preferably with experience implementing supply chain management software.
3+ years of classroom training experience , 3+ years of courseware development or Instructional design experience.
•Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to explain minor technical concepts to non-technical people and manage customer expectations.
•Able to function well under minimal supervision, with wide latitude for independent judgment.
•Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, will have direct contact with client’s technical and warehouse personnel.
•May be responsible for employee instruction/direction.
•Must have the aptitude to pick up difficult concepts quickly, organize their responsibilities, concisely provide updates to co-workers and department management, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
•Must be proficient in adult learning techniques, technical training skills, conflict resolution, instructional design, status reporting, issue / situation resolution, class facilitation, business writing and public speaking skills. May provide individual instruction, as needed.
• Training background or knowledge, project management experience, technical and functional background, supply chain experience, client facing / systems troubleshooting experience, familiarity with database structures required.
Software Implementation experience is a plus.
• Ability to conduct advanced in-house and on-site training classes for internal and external customers regarding the operation and features of Manhattan Associates’ various solutions.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft suite with an emphasis in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Must be proficient in instructional design and business writing.
• Must possess the aptitude to learn Manhattan business applications, proprietary solutions, infrastructure and support systems, and other technology used in their daily assignments.
