NetCentrics is looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to support our team in Herndon, VA.

Job Description:

Specific duties include:
  • The NetCentrics Senior Solutions Architect primary role is to lead the development of solutions across the range of NetCentrics-provided services.
  • Work with the NetCentrics business development and technical staff to develop and architect technical solutions for enterprise IT bid opportunities.
  • Lead proposal technical efforts and work in coordination with capture managers to research vendors and technologies for bids.
  • This role works for the VP of Strategic Programs, and with Account Executives and Business Developers, Proposal and Technical members.
  • Work throughout the BD lifecycle to identify strategic technical needs in consultation with the new business team. This can include identifying new potential opportunities and helping to improve NetCentrics’ win probability with technical strategies and tactics for upcoming proposals.
  • Work with our senior technical staff and subject matter experts to architect and help define solutions for current programs and symposiums.
  • Assist proposal teams develop appropriate staffing LOE estimates to proposal requirements and technical solutions and land within bid price constraints using constraint guidance from the Capture Manager.
  • Maintains top-level responsibility for detailed solution analysis and design during business capture, proposal development and post award transition to delivery team
  • Formulates approach to solution scope and objectives relative to a client's requirements
  • Leads technical solution and response development on proposals; serves as the technical volume lead
  • Effectively integrates core capabilities with new technology to successfully implement solution development projects and standards definitions
  • Aligns solutions to new cloud models and transitions from traditional infrastructures to As-A-Service delivery models
  • Supports New Business Development and Project Managers in the role of Solution Architect during the proposal stage of business capture (i.e., writing technical proposal sections)
  • May provide advisory support to Program Managers and the Project Manager during the transition, build, and operate phases of solution/program implementation
  • Responsible for basis of estimates on technical service delivery solutions.
  • Contribute to New Business Strategy development and collaborate with the Operations Recruiting Department on recruitment priorities, coordinating additional recruitment support and resources for proposals, as needed to support the bid pipeline.
  • S/he will participate in new business intelligence gathering for upcoming and potential new business opportunities; this can include: customer meetings, industry days, partner meetings, vendor and technology research.
  • An important, regular activity will be to read RFIs, Draft RFPs, Final RFPs and analyze associated technical and delivery requirements and qualifications for these opportunities.

  • The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s of science degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or higher, or have an experience equivalency of seven years to equal a bachelors degree
  • Three years of relevant business development proposal experience; demonstrated federal bid win results
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively on teams; and, be a fast learner to absorb and apply new subject matter and enter new customer accounts
  • 10+ years of current experience in providing operational and developmental technical services and solutions to federal clients
  • Has successfully led technical proposal responses with a proven record of winning new business in the federal government market, proven wins must include deals at least $50M
  • Certifications in multiple discipline areas of the enterprise infrastructure and computing environment, including: Cisco Certifications, Linux Certifications, Microsoft Server Certification, Storage Area Network Certifications, Network Management Certifications, Security Certifications, ITIL
  • Very strong business writing skills with experience writing proposal sections including: technical, risk, quality, staffing and past performance.
  • Ability to take responsibility for and lead assignments and report regularly on progress with minimal oversight
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external candidates, both verbally and in writing—strong phone and email skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
