The position requires at least an Associate's degree or two-year College equivalent (at least 60 undergraduate semester hours) and at least two years of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.
Substitution of Experience for Education Permitted (Non-faculty only)
The position provides advanced secretarial, administrative and clerical support to the Honors Institute to ensure effective and efficient daily office operations. The position may also assist department with the operation of computerized applications (to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Prefer applicants with: (1) excellent proficiency in maintaining websites, (2) excellent verbal skills, (3) excellent proficiency in understanding and maintaining budgets, (4) experience in giving presentations to large groups and (5) excellent organizational skills.
Supplemental Job Information
The key job responsibilities include: (1) able to maintain the budget and website, (2) give presentations to various groups, (3) communicate among a variety of cohorts: high school and college students, parents, high school counselors, and Honors Directors throughout the United States. Applicants must be available for flexible hours that may include some evenings.
