Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must complete assigned tasks that meet quality, functionality and scheduled objectives.
Must plan individual work as assigned, review plans with manager(s) and group lead(s) and provide status updates. Must have the ability to manage time and set priorities in situations where many simultaneous work assignments have to be completed within the same time frame.

Must use sound engineering principles to design and architect systems and subsystems that do not contain errors.
Must have ability to work within internal and external cross-functional teams.
Must have the ability to articulate ideas within cross-functional discussions. Present or assist in the presentation of design improvement ideas, issue resolution, and analysis of technical data. Perform and facilitate specification reviews, design reviews and technical data analysis.
Must use sound engineering principles to identify and resolve system and component-level issues. This must include the proper use of statistical data analysis and sample size definition.
Must have the ability to recognize where process improvements are required and be proactive in the creation of new efficient processes where needed.
Participate in the development of department level processes, including the documentation of processes and procedures, and recommendations for improvements to existing processes.
Provide verbal and written status including reports to Dept. Mgr and/or other staff members.
Must have writing skills necessary to write technical specifications and test reports.

B.S. 10 or more yrs related experience, or MS 8 or more yrs related experience, or PHD 6 or more yrs related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
