The successful candidate will be part of a team developing software for Spirent's industry-leading LTE network simulation applications for mobile device testing. This position involves the development of network protocol processing, instrument control, and GUI software components running on Microsoft Windows. This includes the specification, design, and integration of software system components. The successful candidate will implement new products, enhancements to existing products and have leadership responsibilities.

Major Responsibilities include:
-Requirements analysis and design of LTE network simulation applications
-Design specification, implementation and testing of application software for test instruments
-Providing subject-matter expertise to product development teams
-Development of network protocol processing software
-Development of Microsoft Windows application software

Additional Responsibilities Include:
-Participate in requirement analysis, detailed design, and development activities
-Analyze 3GPP standards and specifications and translate them to design, requirements and code
-Write requirement documents, design documents and test procedures
-Provide subject-matter expertise to product development teams
-Work with cross-functional teams to integrate various software and hardware components
-Occasionally travel to customer sites for product inter-ops or demos

Job Requirements:
*BSEE/BSCE required. MSEE/MSCE desired.

*Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar position in related technologies.

*Familiarity with LTE/UMTS/CDMA wireless communication technologies and protocols. In-depth knowledge of LTE protocols and their use is highly desirable.

*In-depth knowledge of data network protocols (TCP/UDP/SIP) is highly desirable.

*Experience with design verification testing of wireless terminals is desired; experience with script-based network simulators also desired.

*Candidate must have working knowledge of C/C++ and C# and/or object-oriented design and programming.

*Microsoft .NET experience desirable.

*Motivated, self-starter who likes challenging work.

*Possess strong problem solving skills and team-oriented approach.

*Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

*Good written and verbal communication skills are also needed in this position.

*Ability to travel internationally.
