Assume charge nurse responsibilities for the unit in absence of the Assistant Patient Care Coordinator in making shift assignments, facilitating admissions, transfers and discharges.
Acts as a clinical resource for the unit.
Communication accurate shift to shift hand off for the assigned patients/units.
Contribute to the interdisciplinary Plan of Care and document.
Communicate changes in the patient’s condition to the appropriate personnel.
Performs & documents the patient’s initial assessment & reassessments within the required time frame.
Explains & prepare patients for procedures
Performs all duties within the guideline of the Infection Control Program.
Performs all duties within the standards of regulatory agencies and JCAHO requirements.
Provide care based on scientific principles, Nursing Therapy & Evidence based practice.
Responds effectively to emergencies and adjust work assignments appropriately.
Must be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. BSN required. A current NYS license, BLS. Certification in specialty area is a plus coupled with a minimum of three (3) years experience in the related specialty. A proven track record of demonstrated leadership abilities, competence, professionalism and excellent customer skills are essential to succeed in this position.
