The Storage Engineer is responsible for management, maintenance, performance, and health of FTI’s mission critical storage and backup infrastructure. Responsibilities also include planning and implementing firmware and code upgrades, data migration activities, developing documentation, and ensuring integrity of client data. Candidates should have extensive experience with storage networking design and implementation.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Develop and maintain all SAN and NAS systems across our global datacenters
• Assist Storage Architect with design and implementation of new technology
• Develop written and online documentation of processes and procedures
• Maintain storage best practices and storage life cycle management including code and firmware upgrades.
• Work effectively with system administrator/engineers, DBAs, project managers, business representatives, vendors, and analysts to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Act as a technical lead in project based enhancements to the storage and backup environments
• Configure and administrate storage area network and associated components, including fiber channel switches and encryption devices
• Manage provisioning and decommissioning of storage devices in a heterogeneous storage environment
• Monitor performance of storage arrays, recommending and implementing optimizing enhancements
• Support for disaster recovery efforts and remote datacenter storage management
• Mentoring and/or training other team members
• Support ongoing automation efforts of storage technologies
• Participate in Change Management process
• Work as part of an on-call resource rotation for after-hours support

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing large scale storage environments
• Minimum 5 years of experience with storage technologies from EMC
• Minimum 5 years of experience with fiber channel switching technologies
• Minimum 1 year of experience with at least one common scripting language
• B.S. or a B.A. college degree, technical certifications, or commensurate work experience

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Familiarity with enterprise backup software
• Familiarity with storage technologies from Dell
• Hands on experience with scale-out NAS Solutions
• Microsoft Windows and/or VMware systems administration experience a plus
• Strong experience supporting UNIX/Linux systems
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques
• Working understanding of storage fundamentals
• Ability to perform many storage functions from both GUI and CLI interfaces
• Customer focused with excellent customer service track record
• Demonstrate strong analytic skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with local and remote teams
