Job Summary :
The Senior Storage Engineer is a senior technical resource in Storage Management and is responsible for the implementation and effective and efficient maintenance of related technologies. In addition, this individual has broader knowledge of Information Technology at large, with an understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate. The Senior Storage Engineer is responsible for leading implementation and troubleshooting efforts and aiding in design efforts.

Principal Responsibilities:
Serves as senior subject matter resource in the field of Storage Management, maintaining a strong understanding of the field and its related technologies. Stays abreast of current technologies.
Provides technical support to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related MFS information systems.
Proactively develops and maintains strong knowledge of MFS information systems and their related components, and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, or security of these systems as appropriate.
Leverages technology to automate manual tasks, and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate. Recommends process improvements.
Develops, enforces and maintains MFS Information Security controls, procedures, and standards.
Serve as technical mentor to other members of the team.
Represents the Storage Team on the Internal IT Troubleshooting Task Force.
Collaborates with other IT and business groups and readily shares information to resolve business problems.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
Three or more years of related Information Technology experience.
Thorough knowledge of Netapp Filers.
Hands on experience in EMC's Control Center, SRDF, Mirrorview, SANcopy. Network Appliance - snapshot, snapmirror, CIFS/NFS administration.
Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup 7.1 Software and Data Domain disk backup systems.
Knowledge of/experience with EMCstorage equipment: EMC VMAX,VPLEX Centerra and SAN Fabric Director Class Switch strongly preferred.
Strong subject matter knowledge in the field, with familiarity with other related Information Technologies.
Strong analytical, problem solving, writing and organizational skills; ability to work effectively under pressure.
Demonstrate ability to interact, build relationships, communicate, and negotiate well with members of team and senior management; makes effective presentations.
Provide support, capacity, configuration, performance, and availability management services for all storage related technologies / infrastructure.
Analyze, troubleshoot, document and solve problems in a timely and accurate manner.
Identify areas of improvements and maintain the roadmap for our storage infrastructure.
Provide regular updates on related projects and identify potential risks to management.
Ability to demonstrate the following competencies: Data Gathering and Analysis, Problem Solving, Conceptual Thinking, and Attention to Detail, Use of Technical Expertise, Initiative, and Teamwork/Team Building related to Troubleshooting.
