In order to sell Sony products at the retail level, each stores’ needs have to be carefully analyzed.
As part of the Supply Chain group, our Replenishment Planners analyze and monitor sales data to ensure the appropriate levels of inventory are maintained and to resolve unexpected inventory problems.
This happens in each channel, for individual retail locations, and on specific product categories.
Due to the constant changes in inventory and sales, this is an extremely fast paced environment with daily challenges that must be addressed quickly.
Working in our San Diego headquarters facility, we have a current opening for a Senior Store Replenishment Planner responsible for specific product categories within Sony’s Consumer Direct account which includes Sony Stores, Sony Factory Stores, Sony Family Center and Sony Store Online. Assignments will be given in the form of general objectives and the Senior Planner will work with the Supply Chain team, Consumer Direct Merchandisers, and Store Management in determining how to meet schedules and goals based on sales data, trends, and product life cycles.
The ideal candidate will be able to not only perform tactical duties, but also see how day to day activities affect the overall inventory “picture” for the channel.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain appropriate store level inventory levels to maximize business
Manage product lifecycle (launch, transition)
Work proactively with Customer Care team to resolve customer backorders
Manage and resolve system and warehouse discrepancies in order to ensure proper delivery schedule
Manage relationships and inventory transfer through P2C partners
Proactively manage business in a way that helps meet company KPIs (Weeks of Supply, In Stock, Cost Reduction, etc)
Participate and collaborate on additional projects as needed

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required
Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field including at least 2 years experience specifically in supply chain or inventory control experience required
Experience with Sony’s Consumer Direct business is helpful
High level of software proficiency in MS Excel and SAP required
Strong Data Warehouse reporting skills a plus (i.e. BW, Cognos)
Must have a high level of analytical ability and be able to spot trends and potential problems in detailed data sources
Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals required
Must have proven track record of high performance within a fast-paced business environment with an ability to organize and multitask effectively
Ability to work independently, prioritize duties and work within tight deadline with minimal supervision is required
Must have excellent communications skills, including: interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation
Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers is required
Must have excellent strategic and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt quickly and be flexible when managing day to day work load is imperative
Must be able to resolve problems and make decisions in the midst of ambiguous situations
