Sr. Strategic Analyst
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Drives key business decisions and strategies by using market and business intelligence data; recommends new ideas for growth, understanding competitive actions and market trends; works with all lines of business to translate research results into clear business strategies; aligns existing strategic/business plans and go forward with the strategic position to identify gaps and/or areas of opportunity
Performs complex research, analysis, and interpretation of data obtained by management and other groups in order to conceptualize and define business strategy and operational problems and to support business decision-making
Provides program management services to division leader and assists in managing strategic initiatives in a planned and systematic fashion
Defines data requirements and gathers and validates information applying analytical methods
Conducts and analyzes secondary research and identifies meaningful relationships and patterns in large data sets to extract implicit, previously unknown, but useful information
Prepares management reports defining and evaluating problems; and summarizes third party research reports and studies
Performs other related duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in economics, finance, business administration, or a related field from a leading university, and, two years of professional job-specific work experience in a top 10 investment bank, ‘big 5’ consulting company or the strategy function of a large ($10B+ revenue) company, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Financial services and/or insurance industry experience beneficial
Job Knowledge & Skills
Advanced analytic and quantitative skills and techniques
Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office suite of software with a focus on MS Excel and PowerPoint
Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience performing complex quantitative business-based analysis
Experience with the tools, concepts, methodologies, and techniques of financial analysis
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse set of audiences (technical, general management, etc)
