Job Overview
J P Kenny is one of the world's largest pipeline, subsea engineering and management contractors, with 30 years experience and based in a global network of 10 offices on 4 continents. We employ approximately 1,300 professionals (mostly Engineers) and our services are used by some of the world’s foremost businesses. We are working on some of the largest, most innovative, subsea oil & gas projects in the world.
One of the major current projects is BP Shah Deniz phase 2 (located offshore Azerbaijan) involving an integrated team of J P Kenny and BP. This massive project is presently employing ~140 (JPK) & ~90 (BP) Engineers in the London office and is still expanding. It is a long term stable project with first gas planned for the end of 2017 with work planned far beyond.
The requirement is for a Senior Subsea Systems Engineer who will work within the Shah Deniz system project team ensuring that the operational requirements of the project are met as per the roles & responsibilities listed below.
The position will be located in our head office in Staines, London which is 5 miles from Heathrow airport and within easy reach of the M25 and rail network. A lot of the team commutes weekly to Staines from around the UK, so there is a good supply of temporary accommodation in the locality. Together with a vibrant sports and social scene, the London office strives to create an enjoyable and stimulating environment within which to work.
The staff/contract rates are competitive for the industry. Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Subsea Systems Engineer will be part of an active project team and would be required to take a senior role within the current system team working on the following activities. However as the project progresses towards the execute/build phase the role will evolve:

Provide technical oversight and technical integrity assurance for the overall subsea system.
Ensuring compliance with project philosophies and operability requirements.
Undertake studies to ensure that an optimized systems solution is being implemented.
Performance of lessons learnt planning and implementation of results.
Co-ordination of input into the project BoD’s.
Maintenance of field architecture, field layouts and system drawings.

The work will be of a diverse nature and the engineer’s responsibilities and duties will develop as the project progresses. This is a fast moving exciting role with great opportunities. Experience Required
A Senior Subsea Systems Engineer having more than 10 years subsea oil & gas experience. The Engineer should hold an engineering degree and preferably be a Chartered Member of an Engineering Institute.
The candidate should have working experience of the following areas of subsea engineering and have worked on a large EPC project through its life:
Subsea architecture and layouts.
Subsea equipment detailed design.
Subsea controls / systems detailed engineering.
Engineering the pre-commissioning of subsea systems including pipelines.
Fault diagnosis /operations engineering support. Any Other Information
