As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
-Researching and gathering property owner information at the local courthouse, utility agency and/or highway department for tracts of land to be surveyed. This information will assist with determining property ownership and parcel configuration.
-Conducting property calculations by interpreting property research information, computing parcel shapes from deed descriptions, and applying parcel shapes and property lines to field survey data. An understanding of state property law is required to develop existing property line information.
-Preparing legal description documents for conveying right of way and parcels of land.
-Processing survey field data checking for errors and correcting, importing corrected field data into CAD files and developing detailed maps of topography, surface models and planimetric data in CAD files.
- Preparing property boundary plats and exhibits. Knowledge of local, state and client requirements are essential in development of a survey plat or map.
- Work with survey party on project sites when needed.
A successful CDM Smith candidate will have:
-High School Diploma.
-6 years in a Land Surveying and/or Survey Technician role.
-Knowledge of local & state survey standards as applicable to work being performed.
-Experience with Microstation preferred.
