Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a self-motivated and talented senior systems administrator to join our internal implementation team.
The implementation team is the deployment arm of Internal IT.
Our main goal is to release infrastructure that is highly available, high performing, and meets our customer’s needs.
We work comprehensively with the internal engineering and operations teams to guarantee that we are in alignment with the business’ needs and goals while adhering to best practices.
Job duties would include implementing systems and services for our global infrastructure while ensuring adherence to best practices and minimizing impact to users.
An ideal candidate would be someone who looks at a task and determines, not only “how do I make this more efficient”, but further “how can I automate it”.
Deployment of new technologies while adhering to best practices.
Tier 2 to tier 3 troubleshooting of issues.
Performing upgrades to software and systems.
Follow incident, problem, crisis and change management processes.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems relating to systems, network, and storage infrastructure.
Work with global IT teams to assist in supporting global office IT infrastructure.
A minimum of 7 years’ of Windows Active Directory Design and administration
A minimum of 7 years’ of Unix / Linux systems administration
A minimum of 7 years’ of Windows Server systems administration
A minimum of 3 years’ of Cisco Firewall and Switch Administration
Experience with VMWare, vSphere, or other Enterprise Virtualization administration
Experience with large-scale operating system deployments as well as associated tools and methods
In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as IP, ARP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SNMP, etc.
Able to write scripts, and / or programs using Batch, Bash, Perl, Powershell, Python, etc.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Able to document team policies and procedures if they do not already exist

Excellent customer support skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Proven oral and written communication skills
Able to prioritize, address, and follow through on multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Able to work independently and with other members of a team
Available to be on-call for emergencies; able to work weekends if needed
Experience in a Large-Scale computing environment
Experience with NAS and SAN Systems
Knowledge of ITIL practices and experience with their application in an IT department
Experience with MS SQL database administration
Experience in a fast-paced environment
Familiar with fundamental computer science concepts
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Certification in any UNIX based operating system (SCSA, AIX, RHCE)
CCNA, and / or CCNP Certifications
