Job Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer will be the lead technical administrator and team lead for the server administration team. The team supports all current versions of Windows and VMWare/ESX., Citrix, Exchange, Active Directory, Blackberry, SAN and data backups. The position reports to the Director of Infrastructure.

Technical Responsibilities:Subject Matter Expert for the following technologies:
VMWare/ESX up to the vSphere version, VCenter management, physical to virtual migrations (P2V)
Microsoft Windows operating systems up to Win2008R2 version
Citrix v5
Microsoft Exchange 2010- management,scripting for migrations, and design.
Active Directory- management,scripting for migrations, and design.
Blackberry Enterprise Server
SAN/NAS – NetApp and Compellent
Backup – CommVault Simpana
Provide level II and III support from the DYONYX Service Desk, supporting the customer environments from an Incident, Change, Problem and Request management perspective.
Patch management and Package administration, from a hardware and OS layer.
Troubleshoot and provide resolution for incidents both on-site and remote technical support
Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include servers, network equipment, storage, backup, desktop PC, and software applications
Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups
Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs
Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement
Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources
Creates and maintains the technical documentation
Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule with other NOC members
Lead and direct vendors to assist in troubleshooting efforts

10+ years of Server administration experience on Microsoft Windows and VmWare/ESX
5+ years of Management experience over technical teams who perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues, and work in a collaborative effort with others as necessary to quickly and effectively resolve technical issues.
Ability to solve highly complex problems spanning multiple technologies and disciplines
Sound understanding of hardware fundamentals of servers, storage and backups
