The Senior Technical Consultant III will serve in a key role by designing, developing, and implementing customizations to Blackbaud CRM applications for our Data Management Services (DMS) clients. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with business analysis, campaign, production, and account management DMS teams to provide superior service to our non-profit clients.
Execute portions of projects involving analysis, technical design, development, unit testing, and implementation
Develop customizations including: imports, exports, back-end data fixes, stored procedures/functions/views, file manipulation scripts, automated transfer scripts, reports, etc.
Consult with DMS internal client teams and clients to gather information about program needs, current and desired functionality, and input and output requirements
Work with DMS client teams and business analysis group to ensure the client's business needs are being met throughout a project
Troubleshoot issues with customizations or CRM application functionality
Generate ideas for improving technical solutions to better service DMS clients
Perform peer code reviews and follow change management protocols
Mentor new team members on protocols, development practices, and product functionality
3+ years’ programming experience with SQL Server relational database technology
Strong knowledge of SQL and T-SQL
Knowledge of XML, Visual Basic, and .NET a plus
Knowledge of fundraising practices and/or experience with Blackbaud products and services a plus
5+ years’ experience working in a professional setting in a technical role or 2 years of experience and a Master’s degree in information technology
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
Flexible team player willing to work in a fast paced environment, able to manage multiple client projects at once, adapting priorities as necessary
Experience creating and troubleshooting stored objects including procedures, views, functions
Comfortable asking questions and performing in-depth research when given vague or incomplete specifications
Confidence to learn product functionality on own initiative via back-end research, online training resources, product manuals, and developer forums
Thoroughness in forming test plans, capturing results and presenting them for review
Ease in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audience
Additional Software skills - Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Minimal Travel is required (less than 5%).
