The Elite Operations, a high-energy, proactive department, is seeking a results-driven, team-oriented, self-motivated professional who combines strong project management skills with business acumen and proactive leadership for the position of Sr. Project Manager – Operations.

The Operations Department and its Project Management Office provide project management, process re-engineering, monitoring and metrics, as well as advice and guidance to the department, internal customer in varying departments and on organizational projects. The projects are generally high visibility and cross-functional in nature.

Primary Objective(s)

The Senior Project Manager provides project and process management support services, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, consistent with defined internal client expectations. The Senior Project Manager also supports and influences key stakeholders to follow standard project management practices and manages the analysis and reporting of metrics and project performance indicators while contiruting to the continual improvement processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the project life cycle to facilitate successful project delivery and metrics.
  • Identifies and proactively drives high quality project deliverables, dependencies, and critical path items – proactively manages changes in project scope and creates contingency plans in a constantly changing environment
  • Operates in a culturally diverse environment, adapting communication style, procedures, and approaches as necessary.
  • Controls project deliverables, scope & expectations, and coordinates project progress with sponsors, steering committees, and senior leadership.
  • Interfaces independently with all functional and business areas affected by the project – works closely with functional resource managers to ensure adequate allocation of resources to projects
  • Creates and executes on all project documentation including definition of charter, project scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Develops and tracks to detailed project plans including schedules business requirements, cost estimates, resource plans, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution plans
  • Assist with estimation of resources and participation required to successfully achieve project goals
  • Negotiates with leaders of the business units in driving towards project deliverables
  • Delivers project reports, proposals, and requirements documentation to senior leadership and key stakeholders – produces executive reports on the projects and keeps leadership apprised of project changes and milestone delays
  • Support the efforts of other groups such with project management mentoring and support.
  • Mentors new and/or less experienced Project Managers.
  • Act as a resource for questions related to project management processes and procedures.
  • Deliver input for formal presentations and executive summaries to senior management and status updates

Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and skills

Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Operations or similar industry, combined with 8+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience with project work/requirements tracking software (such as MS Project, MS Project Server environment )
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing technology environment, and to work on multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with Executive audiences.
  • Effective time-management skills.
  • PMP certification or similar certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by managing multiple priorities/projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by ability to lead client and internal teams .
  • Excellent written and verbal skills demonstrated by activities performed in current or previous positions
  • Experience with third party vendors
  • Experience managing global geographically distributed and multi-disciplinary project teams required.
  • Demonstrated use of tact and diplomacy in managing communications
  • Demonstrated clarity and accuracy of written documentation
  • Experience managing projects with risk management, extensive project reporting and project management tools experience required.
  • Experience creating and tracking complete detailed plans for complex projects.
Skills:
  • Must be capable of managing several projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgment, analytic, and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills to explain project goals and inspire support.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Extensive use of Microsoft office and project planning tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development processes
  • Advanced PC skills, including MS Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Sharepoint. Knowledge and experience with MS Project Server is highly preferred.
