Provide software documentation and interactive online help systems with embedded tutorials and videos to help customers use RMS products.
Provide on-time technical software documentation of all types including but not limited to User Guides, Installation Guides, Administration Guides, Troubleshooting documentation, Concepts Guides, Release Notes, and other technical documents for RMS products.
Take the lead to create content outlines and coordinate the content definition, drafting, review, and revision process with product managers.
Help RMS customers understand how they may be impacted by known issues. Use your writing skills to make technical details understandable and collaborate with cross-functional teams to document specific workarounds.
Conduct usability tests on documented procedures such as installation and administration tasks to improve document usability.
Be a customer advocate by taking responsibility for documentation quality. Test document deployment and search to enhance customer interactions within the documentation library.
Influence and improve the product design by providing proactive feedback on the user interface.
Four-year college degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications or related field. Technical degree or experience writing analytical documents (such as statistical documentation) is a plus.
Min of 8 years of experience in the Technical Writing industry for a commercially released enterprise level software product.
Proficient in Adobe FrameMaker 9.0 or later using advanced features such as conditional text and text insets.
Experience with WebWorks ePublisher and Madcap Flare.
Basic understanding of HTML to create and edit web pages using Notepad or DreamWeaver.
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle.
Experience using document source control tools such as TFS.
Excellent writing skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in written form.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects.
Professional writing samples are required.
