The Senior Telecom Analyst works under minimal supervision and operates and maintains Avaya and Nortel VoIP and TDM telephone systems. Call Pilot voicemail systems and other PBX communication systems and equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
Review and analyze complex communication system needs and determine best approach for implementing solutions that meet existing needs while also planning for future capacity.
Monitor the operation of communication systems to ensure acceptable system uptime.
Champion the collaborative resolution of communication systems trouble tickets / system failures.
Conduct monthly maintenance and quarterly backups of all communication systems and equipment.
Lead efforts to develop and gain approval for recommendations for system upgrades and improvements.
Implement new communications equipment / assist vendors in doing so.
Coordinate with vendors on third party circuit issues and resolutions.
Maintain accurate records of all communications systems and equipment including licenses and detailed specifications / drawing.
Serve as company subject matter expert for all communication systems and equipment.
Train other team members in communications systems and equipment.
Lead / Co-lead internal process improvement initiatives. Provide feedback on processes by offering suggestions.
Mentor and supervise junior staff in project-level tasks.
Assist with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls.
Ensure all work products meets /exceeds firm's standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least five (5) years of related experience, or equivalent training and / or work experience.
Past experience with Phone Systems (cs1000, PBX, etc.), VoIP / SIP Trunking, Networking, Networked voicemail systems and structured cabling.
Expereince working with geographically divert operations.
Knowledge of industry leading communication system approaches.
Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships that improved the quality of work products.
Should be well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities.
Ability to maintain focus and develop proficiency in new skills rapidly.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Work is normally performed in an office environment. Occasional travel and extended hours may be required
