The Sr. Test Engineer position is located in New Port Richey, FL.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
T he Test Engineer will be responsible for recommending/developing/implementing testing strategies for filtration components such as Filter Manifolds, Filter Elements, Valves, Differential Pressure Switches, Inlet Air Cleaners, and Indicators, working with the Proposals Team, Design Engineering, and Program Management for customer product qualification programs.
The Test Engineer will work with R&D or Design Engineering, as part of the new product/technology development teams, and be responsible for all aspects related to product performance testing in the laboratory and in the actual applications in the field.
The Test Engineer will also be involved in customer applications support projects related to fluid system filtration, separation and contamination control, working in conjunction with Sales and Marketing.
The Test Engineer will review laboratory testing procedures and equipment, and recommend best practices, new equipment, and upgrades to equipment to maintain 'state-of-the-art' laboratories. Special emphasis is on the air flow performance laboratories.
Specific activities in conjunction with the above listed job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Setting up standard test protocols and test procedures for testing and qualification of filtration and separation products, specifically for air systems.
Reviewing test procedures from Engineering, R&D or customers and recommending suitable revisions to them, based on testing and applications expertise.
Coordinating project execution within the SLS laboratories, and working closely with the assigned technician(s) and other personnel in ensuring proper, timely, execution and successful completion of the project. On occasion, the Test Engineer may also have to run laboratory tests.
Reviewing test data and laboratory reports, and, where required, issuing Lab reports.
Setting up and validating test equipment, software, and fixtures for product testing, working with laboratory technicians, and other personnel.
Overseeing testing of products with source inspectors and FAA witnesses.
Trouble shooting test procedures and equipment, and resolving any problems arising during the execution of projects.
Attending reviews of customer specifications and requirements organized by the Proposals Team, Sales, or Design Engineering/R&D, and recommending test procedures for product testing and validation.
Assisting in the development of new test procedures and procurement of new ‘state-of-the-art’ testing equipment.
Mentoring/training technicians and lab personnel in testing and new procedures.
Participating as a member of the Steering Committee of the SLS Aerospace Laboratories and undertake projects assigned by the Steering Committee.
Ensuring that the safety of the test operator and/or technician is designed into the test process and never jeopardized.
Identifying and addressing process improvement activities within the lab
Maintaining a safe working environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills, required for reading and assimilating complex specifications and requirements and for presenting at internal Pall meetings, and for composing technical reports.

Must be proficient in computer skills.
PLC and Digital Data Acquisition background helpful.
Prior wind tunnel experience a plus.
Must have good organizational and communication skills
Educational Requirements and Experience : Bachelors in Engineering or Technical discipline is required. Experience in aerospace fluid systems and testing of fluid system components, especially air filtration and separation components, preferred.
Travel Requirements: Travel requirements 20 % or less. Includes overnight trips to customer facilities away from the home office, and on-site testing at customer facilities, mostly within the U.S.
