Description:

As a Senior Applications Developer you are responsible for the performance of any/all functions involved in the development and/or maintenance of new or existing mobile applications and systems.

To be successful in this position you will need experience with the development of enterprise solutions and knowledge of mobile application architectures. Advanced knowledge of the software development life cycle, databases, systems integration, mobile enterprise application platforms, modern mobile operating systems as well as languages and tools associated with developing modern mobile applications. You should also be able to lead small teams and possess the ability to engage and maintain strong relationships with customers.

As an Sr Mobility Application Developer focused on Mobile Application User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), you will be an integral member of a tight-knit team working with business analysts, sales consulting, software engineering, product managers, and customer facing teams to get a concept right early and iterate toward solutions that get business results. The successful candidate will have superior visual design skills, and possess a keen and quick understanding of business strategy, design patterns and visual trends.

You'll be counted on for high-level, out-of-the-box thinking, and for your ability to communicate and influence design solutions that best meet business objectives. Experience defining design direction across a family of products in an end-to-end user experience is a plus.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Create engaging, usable, and effective visual design solutions for mobile and web applications on your own and through collaboration with peers to achieve business goals
Generate multiple concepts that fulfill project requirements, articulate the relative merits of each concept, and make recommendations for which would best meet the project goals
Designing storyboards, wireframes, interactive page layouts, site grids and interface demos, photo retouching and enhancements
Approach all projects with a focus on communication hierarchy using layout, color, typography, proportion, iconography, photography, motion/rich media and brand
Foster strong sense of team with fellow designers through solicitation of feedback and constructive contribution to review sessions
Utilize industry best practices and design standards to define and implement design criteria, guidelines, and specs that effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
Use initiative, creativity, collaboration, and innovation to drive more effective design and process ideas to fruition

Using programming language and tools, writes code, completes programming and documentation, and performs unit testing and debugging of enterprise systems and mobile applications. Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs new and existing enterprise systems and mobile applications.

Required Qualifications:

5 or more years experience creating or supporting enterprise application solutions. including all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

5 or more years programming experience with Java, C# or C++.

Experience with design and development of custom systems integration.

Experience with design and development of enterprise database solutions.

Visual design experience and related degree (mobile design big plus)
Creative and pragmatic problem solver
Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skills
Well-rounded understanding of usability best practices
Ability to solicit and incorporate diverse perspectives
Creativity with an eye towards detail and perfection of visual design
Ability to switch easily between different projects, and flexibility to handle a rapidly changing environment while delivering high quality results
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft office
Understanding of and the strengths and limitations of Flash, Ajax, Flex, and other emerging platforms
Ability to learn new technology quickly, from core applications being developed to new design tools, new platforms, and new devices
Familiarity with web technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions including HTML5, CSS, AJAX, and Flash a plus
Understanding of interactivity and the Web and the fundamentals of information architecture
A portfolio, available for viewing, showing great sense of design, creativity, and good communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

5 or more years experience with design, engineering, configuration, integration and support of user interface designs

Experience with IOS, Windows Mobile, Android

Technical Bachelor's Degree

Advanced Degree is a plus

3 or more years experience with design, development, configuration, integration and support of mobile application solutions.

1 or more years experience with Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (Antenna, Dexterra, Kony, Pyxis)

1 or more years experience native mobile application development on iOS, Android, Windows Mobile or Blackberry OS.

Experience with development of mobile web applications including HTML, XML languages, browser and server scripting.

Knowledge of user interface best practices and strategies for enhancing user experience.

Technical Bachelor's Degree

Advanced Degree is a plus

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related field

5-8 years experience in developing software applications including: analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying and supporting of applications.

Understand API design/development, Web Services design/development (REST, SOA, etc.)

Proficient in application/software architecture (Definition, Business Process Modeling, etc.)

Understand application/software development and design.

Proficient in application/software testing (Unit, Integration, System, Case Planning, Design and Execution).

Understand Change Control Methodology.

Proficient in Development Methodolgies (AGILE, ITUP, 3D, etc.)

Knowledge in protocols (network, software).

Understand Development Tools (Rational Tools, Agile Tools, simulation tools, etc.)

Proficient in internet technologies/programming (WSDLS, HTML, DHTML, XHML, XML, .NET, Active X, SSL, HTTP, Weblogic, Websphere, etc.).

Understand operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows).

Understand programming languages (C, C++, Java, Javascript, Ruby, Jboss, Perl, VXML, XML, etc.).
