We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional in water resources engineering to join our Portland staff. The selected individual will provide consultation services to clients in the planning and design of water resources projects. This position has full technical responsibility and uses decision-making and problem-solving abilities to lead and participate in project teams that develop and implement strategies to address our clients’ stormwater and surface water needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support master planning efforts in water resources, including stormwater master plans
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with federal, state, and local agencies and understand requirements and areas of opportunity for our clients within the regulatory framework
  • Perform project modeling, critically analyzing issues to support site-specific and watershed-based approaches for our clients
  • Design water resources projects related to stormwater, green infrastructure, bank stabilization and habitat restoration
  • Participate in field visits and surface water sampling, as needed, to support project needs
  • Lead client and internal meetings to advance project work
  • Participate in work groups and organizations to benefit the company’s knowledge of issues and to understand client needs
  • Delegate project-specific activities and supervise work of other staff members

Position Requirements
  • M.S. or B.S. degree in engineering or related science with 4+ years of related experience in the water resources field; P.E. preferred
  • Knowledge of stream and geomorphology assessment is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of standard software including AutoCAD, MS Office, and Outlook
  • Active participation in local professional organizations
  • Hydraulic and hydrology modeling preferred but not required
  • Design using ACAD preferred but not required
