Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for nearly half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are seeking a highly technical and creative Senior Web Developer to work within our MSA Sports division. MSA Sports is an internet based, live streaming content provider for local high school, college and semi pro sporting events focusing on Western PA teams. We are looking for someone who will thrive working within a small group environment and can make an immediate impact and help us further evolve the division’s visions into reality. Our web site is currently the only one of its kind, with content offerings such as live streaming of more than 45 unique, simultaneous football broadcasts on any given Friday night during the fall.

We are in need of someone who can help us push the boundaries of web applications, web streaming, infrastructure and social media, allowing us to continue to be the region’s premiere source for all high school sports game-day coverage. This position will require the selected individual to wear many different hats and work within a variety of areas including, but not limited to, design, performance tuning and monitoring, mobile interface discussions and implementations, and server administration and back end development. This position will provide opportunities to utilize current skill sets, as well as further evolve others.

Required Skills and Experience:
Four-year degree in Communication Arts, Information Technology, or a related field. Intensive HTML and web design academic preparation may substitute for one year of experience

Minimum three (3) year’s of software and business applications experience in web development/web design

Strong experience and management of a LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP)

Hands-on understanding of various scripting languages, such as HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript and JQuery

Expertise with Drupal 6 and above, with extensive development experience with theme implementation, views, content types and customization of modules

Ability to effectively interface streaming components of a website with various mobile platforms / versions of OS, in addition to having a general understanding of the differences between iOS and Android streaming protocols

Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with PHP, CSS/HTML, AJAX, Javascript and JQuery,

Ability to test and modify Drupal themes within various browsers: IE, Firefox 3+, Safari 4+, and Chrome 4+

Ability to update core Drupal files and modules with their latest, stable versions; as well as experience migrating Drupal 6 environments to Drupal 7 and above

Experience with IIS Media Services / Media Server (version 7 and above); working with multiple, simultaneous publishing points

Knowledge of audio and media protocols and systems, including h.264, AAC, isml, Apple, MS Expression Encoder Software, MS Smooth Streaming, and various media player offerings (JW player, VLC player; Silverlight; etc.)

Experience with troubleshooting web server, application server, and database performance

Knowledge of load testing software applications (load storm; load runner; etc.)

Experience with social media platforms such as instagram, twitter and facebook

Extensive graphic design experience is a plus (Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop)

SEO skills and web marketing

Experience with various CDNs, such as Akami, Amazon and Azure

Web analytics experience (Google, web server access logs, IIS log analysis)

Experience with version control software (GIT is preferred)

Experience with load balancing system administration
