Position: Senior Windows Admin
Location: Raymond OH
Duration: 6 months contract to hire
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
6+ years’ experience working with various Server architecture and solutions including virtualization. Requires in-depth knowledge and experience of Windows operating systems.
Monitoring Systems experience required.
Certifications, Licenses, etc:
Certifications from major hardware/software vendors like, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
At a senior level is responsible for entire Lifecycle Management of the Server Infrastructure including Prepare, Planning, Design, Implementation, Operations and Optimization to ensure the Server Infrastructure is kept upto date with the technology and meet the changing business demands of customer. Consults with end-users and utilize historic reports to determine the current challenges and propose appropriate solutions. Conducts system installation, configuration and system support activities. Evaluates system compatibility of end-user software. . May be required to plan power and cabling requirements for Servers and related systems. Develops backup and disaster recovery plans for Servers and applications .
Broad understanding of Server Management Framework and Services. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and escalation point for service impacting incidents
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -
25% Works on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of multi-vendor products and applications, identify the root cause of the problems, develop and exeute resolution.. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
20% Follow ITIL based problem management methodology to identify and resolve the root cause of recurring events/incidents
15% Perform Capacity trend analysis on all related components and evaluate the ongoing user demands and develop plan of action to accodomate the changing customer requirements.
10% Maintain backup schedule, system recovery procedures, and disaster recovery procedures.
10% Install, maintain, or update system hardware, operating systems, applications, drivers, firmware.
10% Evaluates new software releases, patches, and third-party products and develop plan of action to keep the Infrastructure up to date on product lifecyle and technology.
10% Update and maintain environment documentation (Operation Guides, Installation Forms, Decommission Forms, Inventory Lists, etc.).
