Job Summary:
The Senior Windows Administrator provides support for j2’s FAX and telephony application infrastructure: eFax®, eFax Developer™, MyFax®, Onebox® Campaigner®, and eVoice® (SIP, HMP, FoIP and related applications).

Job Duties:
Manage system capacity and performance, verify application logs and monitor activity on all FAX, Telephony and Windows based production facing services.

Support all Windows servers and disk storage systems.

Administer, monitor and troubleshoot 1000+ Windows systems in a multi-platform environment.

Support Windows OTS and proprietary applications. Evaluate new hardware/software and services.

Coordinate maintenance, replacement and repair of servers and storage systems,

Research new technologies and present recommendations and justifications on hardware and software purchases

Develop standards (e.g. naming conventions, system configuration, methods and practices, etc.) for server assets.

Resolve assigned trouble tickets and maintain accurate status in the j2 ticketing system

Prepare SLA’s, policies, escalation and maintenance procedures for servers and related peripherals.

Prepare project documentation, status reporting, policies, procedures and reports assigned by management.

Demonstrate initiation and dedication as well as an ability to work independently once general direction is given.

Participate in change control and production control processes.

Job Duties:
Support all Windows servers and Disk storage systems.

Lead and participate on project teams on tasks and activities within the supported environments.

Support Windows OTS and proprietary applications. Evaluate new hardware/software and services.

Coordinate maintenance, replacement and repair of servers and storage systems,

Research new technologies and present recommendations and justifications on hardware and software purchases.

Evaluate new hardware/software and services.

Develop standards (e.g. naming conventions, system configuration, methods and practices, etc.) for server assets.

Promote teamwork within the team and foster cooperation with other groups and departments.

Resolve assigned trouble tickets and maintain accurate status in the j2 ticketing system (jAMS)

Prepare SLA’s, policies, escalation and maintenance procedures for servers and related peripherals.

Prepare project documentation, status reporting, policies, procedures and reports assigned by management.

Demonstrate initiation and dedication as well as an ability to work independently once general direction is given.

Communicate information through effective written and oral communication and presentations.

Prepare and manage project budgets. This includes expense as well as capital budget items.

Participate in change control and production control processes.

Other tasks as assigned by management.

Job Requirements and Experience:
8+ years’ hands-on Windows system administration experience in a distributed environment. Experience with virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V) is required.

5+ years’ experience designing and implementing projects including Active Directory, Microsoft server clustering using MS Windows Server, Windows DFS, Terminal Services and SQL Server.

Experience with NAS and SAN technologies (NetApp a big plus).

Experience with Windows-based telephony applications: HMP, SIP, FoIP are strong plusses.

Experience leading project teams and preparing purchase budgets.

Experience with any of the following is a plus: Fax/Voice Server Hardware and software, Microsoft SCVMM, Zabbix, Tivoli Maximo products, Disaster Recovery.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent, and Technical Certifications (MCSE) required.

Candidate must be self-directed and capable of working on several projects and efforts simultaneously.

Participate in 24x7 support and on-call rotation.

Travel as required.
