Senior Manager – HR
Reports To: Director – HR, North America
The company is a global leader in the design, development and production of high-quality electrical
and electronic distribution systems for commercial and light vehicles manufactured world-wide.

PRIMARY PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Reporting to the Director, HR – North America, the incumbent will provide Human Resources leadership to a staff of three (3) generalists who support 200+ employees in 6+ locations in the US. He/she will be responsible for the complete range of Human Resources functions. Such activities will include talent management, organization effectiveness/engagement, communications, HRIS, payroll, compensation/ benefits management, and compliance with appropriate local, state and federal laws.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:
An accomplished Human Resources professional, experienced in all facets of the function and capable of operating comfortably in a matrix environment. Experience in automotive manufacturing (preferably
with a Tier supplier) is required, including a record of success overseeing multiple plants simultaneously. The incumbent will be a proven generalist with both union and non-union experience. He/she will be able to provide functional leadership through example, exercising coaching skills and maintenance of strong interpersonal relationships. He/she will also demonstrate competence in managing multiple priorities and organizational change in a very dynamic environment.
Consult with functional and operational leaders to resolve complex people issues and more effectively manage the organization to meet business objectives in line with corporate social responsibility and values.
Build and maintain influential relationships by being a strategic partner with associates, supervisors, managers and business leaders to ensure a highly performing and engaged organization.
Manage and administer the company’s US total compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness, effectiveness and financial feasibility.
Prepare and execute, with legal consultation, benefits documentation such as plan documents, benefits agreements, vendor contracts and insurance policies.
Serve as the US HRIS and HR business process owner – ensuring accurate and timely management and linkage of data with appropriate company-wide systems and processes.
Oversee the US HR intranet portal content to ensure accurate, timely communication of information and resources.
Lead the North America talent management process, including 9-Box and succession planning, to measure the depth and breadth of talent in the pipeline, and to define individual/group development needs and strategies for reducing gaps.
Manage the position/job evaluation and grading process in line with organizational strategy.
Manage all regulatory and compliance initiatives, including employee litigation, IRS, ERISA, SOX, DOL, EEOC/AAP, OFCCP, and internal audits supporting QS14001 and TS16949.
Assist in developing, interpreting and administering company policies and processes.
Manage the organizational information and data records management and payroll processes.
Assist in preparation, consolidation and analysis of reports, metrics and data; make recommendations for solutions that add value to the business.
Support expatriate/co-patriate employment processes.
Supervise and develop US HR generalists.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
PHR or higher certification preferred; CEBS helpful
Ten years progressively responsible Human Resources experience, including five years as a supervisor or manager and one to three years experience with multi-plant responsibilities, preferably in an automotive supplier environment.
Demonstrated success in fostering a union-free environment through positive employee relations and/or minimizing organizing initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to manage and administer total compensation and benefit program elements.
Ability to act independently and apply analytical thinking to resolve complex employee issues.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop functional Human Resources plans and initiatives in support of broader business plans.
Ability to assess, prioritize and complete multiple tasks and activities in line with organizational needs.
Strong communications, customer relations and public relations skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization cooperatively and confidentially.
Ability to analyze financials with regard to staffing and employment costs to make effective organizational recommendations and decisions.
Proficiency with HRIS tools – ADP HRB and Oracle Fusion/Taleo preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of foreign cultures (especially Mexico) and Human Resources practices helpful.
